Dance Workshops at The Town Hall.    £3.00.

There will be a selection of hour long workshops at the Town Hall.  They will be aimed at beginners, no need to bring a partner, just turn up and enjoy.

The times for the workshops are:-

11.30 to 12.30  - French

11.30 to 12.30 - Contemporary

12.45 to 1.45pm - West Coast Swing

2.00 to 3.00pm - Argentinian Tango

2.00 to 3.00pm - Palestinian Dabke Dancing

French Dancing with Mike and Heidi

Enjoy some traditional French dancing. There are many simple dances that can be picked up easily. Join us for a relaxed session and find out how easy it is.  No partner or experience needed.'

Contemporary Dance Workshop with Jake Bradnock

Jake will be running a contact dance workshop and exploring lifting, moving and dancing with a partner techniques.  Age is no excuse for not having a go at this one off workshop and partners not needed! Lose clothing advisable. Jake will ensure that fun is the main aim of this workshop.

West Coast Swing

West Coast Swing is fast becoming one of the coolest partner dances on the planet! -It has a fun and friendly vibe. This Workshop will teach you the 5 fundamental basic steps to west coast swing and we aim to get you ’swinging’ after your first workshop! It is a dance for all generations and all music rhythms. It is fun and modern and its essence is the improvisation and creativity. It is a new way to feel the music. It doesn’t matter your flexibility, age, size or shape and no dance experience needed. You can learn it with just passion and enthusiasm. Come and try this new social dance with a difference!!

Argentinian Tango 

with Tango in the Peaks. We are thrilled to have Lucas and Melanie to our event for the first time. Join these two experienced dancers, who will pass their passion on for this beautiful, emotional dance.  Together they run Tango in the Peaks, which have classes in Sheffield, Chesterfield and the Hope Valley.

Palestinian Dabke Dancing  We welcome Shahd and Serena, both members of Hawiyya dance company, which promotes the rich cultural heritage of Palestine. These 2 young talented dancers will be teaching dabke dancing, the traditional folkloric dance of Palestine.  Dabke is a joyful, lively dance using foot stomping movements. Enjoy an energetic workshop and then join Shahd and Serena for their outdoor slot at Bath Gardens at 3.30pm.
